Inside Chemin du Roi
Every step that goes into the creation of Le Chemin du Roi (the King’s Path) is focused on delivering a Champagne worthy of the King
House Style
Once primary fermentation is done, Le Chemin du Roi is blended by the Castelnau Team to create the unique House Style of Chemin du Roi; Elegance from a high percentage of Chardonnay and depth and richness from a high percentage of Pinot Meunier.
Exceeding Aging Requirements
Both Castelnau and Le Chemin du Roi take great pride in allowing all the Champagne to age longer than required in order to add more complexity to the finished product. While it adds much more time to the process, we firmly believe that this is essential to producing the best Champagne: our minimum aging is 48 months on the lees, compared to the required amount of 15 months.
Inside Branson
Owned by award-winning musician, entrepreneur, actor and producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Branson Cognac represents a bespoke, exclusive and unique Cognac that showcases the highest quality of Cognac being made from the best vineyards in every bottle.
Our Cognac is sourced from the finest producers in the Cognac region in France. Our Grand Champagne blends come from the top region in Cognac known for producing Cognac enjoyed globally by collectors and aficionados alike.
“I am proud to have developed quality Cognac blends that are resonating with both established Cognac connoisseurs and new drinkers alike. As an aspirational lifestyle brand, it was important for me to deliver Cognac that can be enjoyed in nightlife, at restaurants, but even more importantly, at home with close friends and family. Right now, the completion of an at-home bar requires having one or more of our Cognacs present, and that means we did it right.”
Distilling and Blending
Branson embodies the history and knowledge with classic production techniques to produce artisanal Cognacs.
The methods used in the vineyards have one singular goal and focus – harvest the best quality and purest Ugni Blanc. Once all the grapes are hand-picked, the grapes are pressed and fermented in vats. The wine is then distilled on the lees that results in elegant and fragrant aromas
Distillation is done in traditional pot stills some being many decades old. As the wine is heated, the alcohol evaporates and rises through the neck of the still and is then cooled to a liquid. This liquid is distilled again to purify it, which at that time becomes an Eaux-de-Vie.
Branson Cognacs are aged in French Oak barrels, sourced from Alliers, Limousin and Tronçais. With a mix of young and old barrels, Branson is able to give each Cognac their ideal golden brown color and allow the liquid to mature and evolve. The final step in the maturation is in the oldest oak barrels that allow the Cognac to evaporate, thus creating the angel’s share.
House Style
Branson is proud to deliver a special and unique house style that evokes the elegance and power of Cognac made from the finest vineyards in the region. Our Cognacs deliver fruit-forward and floral aromas that are balanced by the power of tobacco, sweet spice and vanilla resulting in an opulence and grace in every bottle.
Exceeding Aging Requirements
Branson take great pride in aging all Eaux-de Vie for the Cognacs to age longer than required in order to add more complexity to the finished product. While it adds much more time to the process, and no expense is spared, we firmly believe that this is essential to producing the best Cognac.
